A Celebration of Movement, Mindfulness & the Ocean

Join us for Blue Mind Wellness Day — a full day by the sea dedicated to movement, meditation, and mental wellbeing. From sunrise yoga and pilates to sound healing and Qi Gong, this is a community celebration of wellness for all bodies and levels.

What is Blue Mind ?

The Blue Mind Theory, developed by marine biologist Dr. Wallace J. Nichols, shows how being near, in, or on water naturally calms the nervous system and boosts mental wellbeing.

At Yacht Club Yoga, we bring this to life through ocean-inspired classes that follow the rhythm of the tides — and this event is no different.

Blue Mind Wellness Day flows from sunrise Qi Gong by the sea and ends with restorative sound healing as the sun sets over the bay. A full day to reset, reconnect, and feel the power of water as medicine.

A full day of activities from sunrise to sunset — with movement, meditation, and fun for all ages and levels.

This is a day to wander, dip in, sip tea, stretch it out, or simply sit by the sea.
No bookings needed — just come early, follow your curiosity, and find what feels good.

🌀 Port Melbourne Yacht Club – Downstairs Main Stage

Big open space. Ocean views. Big energy.

  • 7:30–8:30am | 🌅 Sunrise Qi Gong with Kaia de Burgh
    Gently welcome the day with soft, flowing movement.

  • 9:00–10:00am | 🌊 Ocean Flow Yoga with Justine Davis
    A breath-led flow inspired by the sea — accessible and calming.

  • 10:30–11:30am | 🧘‍♀️ Saltwater Yin with Kellie de Burgh
    Melt into long holds and deep rest, bathed in the morning light.

  • 12:00–1:00pm | 🔥 Vinyasa Flow with Ryan Mannix
    A soulful, breath-powered flow to move energy and emotion.

  • 1:30–2:30pm | 🎶 Groove Yoga with Nickie Hanley
    Let loose with yoga meets beats — playful, fun, and freeing.

  • 3:00–4:00pm | 🌙 Restorative & Sound Healing with Valli Maine
    Close the day with stillness, softness, and the sound of healing bowls.

Cosy, quiet, and curious. Great for a breather or a good chat.

  • 9:00–10:00am | Nervous System Reset with Peta de Burgh
    Learn how to calm and care for your inner wiring.

  • 10:30–11:30am | Living Well: Peri & Menopause with Dr Andrea Speed
    Honest convo, laughs, and practical tools for navigating change.

  • 12:00–1:00pm | What is Blue Mind? with Jus & Kel
    The science (and magic) of why water soothes us.

  • 1:30–2:30pm | 🎤 Main Act with Kim & Prue Watty
    Music, musings and a touch of storytelling.

  • 3:00–4:00pm | Tea & Connection Circle
    No agenda — just space to sip, chat, and land softly before heading home.

Pay it Forward + Sponsorship Tickets

Gift Wellness, Create Access

Pay it Forward Tickets are a heartfelt way to gift wellness to someone who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend — whether it's a frontline responder or someone in our community experiencing financial hardship.

These tickets can be donated by individuals, businesses, community groups, or government bodies who wish to support mental health and wellbeing in a tangible, meaningful way.

Thanks to this initiative, we’ll be offering sponsored spots to local heroes including Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria paramedics, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) firefighters, Port Melbourne Life Saving Club (PMLSC), Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES), and the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

They also support access for community members doing it tough — no complicated process, just a simple application to receive a ticket.

This event is a collaboration between Yacht Club Yoga and the Port Melbourne Yacht Club, created in partnership with many local businesses and organisations who believe in the power of movement, mental health, and community.

It’s an offering from the heart — for health, connection, and collective wellbeing.

From teachers to volunteers, locals to first-timers — Blue Mind Wellness Day is powered by community. Bring your friends, come solo, or bring the whole family. All ages, all bodies, and all levels are welcome.

Beyond Blue

Blue Mind Wellness Day is proud to support Beyond Blue, a leading mental health organization providing support and hope to those experiencing anxiety, depression, and suicide.

As part of our commitment to community wellbeing, $5 from every ticket sold will be donated directly to Beyond Blue. On the day, we’ll also be running raffles filled with beautiful wellness prizes — with all proceeds going to Beyond Blue.

Together, through movement, connection, and compassion, we’re making waves for mental health.
